Success and Self Motivation separate the men from the Boys

This video took me through some late nights of work and some really tough training situations. I hope this will do the same for all my fellow Btech and training soldiers!! How Bad Do You Want It??

Remember giving up is never an option, NEVER!!! There is always a way. Freaking out will not get you closer to your goals, by keeping calm and taking one step at a time you will reach it faster than the sprinter that got winded half way through

Adventure Sports Lodge - Btech Project 1

For our 1st project we have to design a Adventure sports lodge. We are required to design a Sustainable building fitting for the type of activity. Mountain biking, hiking, and zip lining are the 3 activities we can choose from. The site is located at Crossways Farm Villages which is away from main roads and in the woods so the use of mass concrete is out, my main materials I want to use is Blue gum wood poles(which is locally harvested and which are being removed for the Crossways villages projects), steel, Latte(also locally harvested), and river stone. I want the sleeping space to be just that, for sleep.

They will be this Lantern/Dome steel cages with robust waterproof fabric around, it will be assembled on site and suspended with ropes from the trees, or if there aren't enough trees around them, blue gum poles will be used. It can easily be removed and also moved around the site. I want the people to remember childhood days by climbing into a tree house. The main communal building will consist of a gathering space, eating space, a kitchenette and separate from that the ablutions, services and showers. The main building in the sketches bellow will change because of the crit I had today and also because I'm also not 100% happy.

These are my 1st basic concept sketches, the lecturer liked it, but said I can still add and improve on it to go from good to great, he also wants me to simplify the main communal building more and I agree with him. Going into the crit I didn't feel 100% happy with the design and knew I have to step it up to make it better, but hey... that's why there is crit sessions. I will add on my new drawings as the project progresses, and of course the end product.
